Philip Bartelt Peace Lutheran Church SCHOOL BOARD Faribault Lutheran School is governed by a Board of Directors in accordance with the school’s mission and bylaws. Board members are elected by the governing bodies of our partner churches and serve as representatives of those congregations. The Board of Directors is responsible for the governance of the school and the development and oversight of school policies. As outlined in the school handbook and in keeping with the principles of Matthew 18:15–17 , we encourage parents to bring any questions or concerns first to the appropriate classroom teacher and then to the school administrator. This approach promotes healthy communication and resolution at the most immediate level, as Scripture instructs: “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church...” — Matthew 18:15–17 (NIV) If a parent or guardian wishes to bring a matter before the Board of Directors, a written request must be submitted at least five (5) days prior to the scheduled board meeting. This request should be placed in a sealed envelope address to the Board Chair and delivered to the school office. We thank you for partnering with us in support of a Christ-centered education for all FLS students. Board meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m., alternating between our partner church locations. Our Middle School program (Grades 5–8) is designed to guide students through the pivotal transition from elementary to high school. With an emphasis on leadership, service, and academic excellence, FLS middle schoolers grow into independent thinkers who are ready to face new challenges with faith and resilience. With an emphasis on leadership, service, and academic excellence, FLS middle schoolers grow into independent thinkers who are ready to face new challenges with faith and resilience. From rigorous coursework to extracurricular activities and spiritual development, our dedicated teachers help students discover their unique gifts and prepare them for a bright future. Classroom Information Students in grades 5-8 are expected to provide their own chromebook for classroom use. A limited number of chromebooks are available from the school if needed. In our middle school grades, students participate in elective classes where they interact with peers across grades 5 through 8. Each student has a dedicated homeroom teacher to support their day-to-day experience, but they also switch classrooms and teachers for core subjects.

Building Confidence and Character in Grades 1–4 Our Elementary School program (Grades 1–4) gives students the tools to grow academically, socially, and spiritually during these formative years. At FLS, your child will experience a challenging, faith-based curriculum, individualized attention, and a supportive community that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning. Classroom Information 1st Grade – Ms. Fuchs First grade is where confidence begins to shine. In Ms. Fuchs’ classroom, students strengthen early reading, writing, and math skills while learning how to work independently and with others. Bible stories and prayer are woven into each day, helping children understand how Jesus walks with them in their learning. It’s a caring, structured space where growing minds and growing faith go hand in hand. 2nd Grade – Ms. Gare Second graders at Faribault Lutheran School begin taking big steps academically and spiritually. In Ms. Gare's class, students develop stronger reading comprehension, explore new math concepts, and learn how to take responsibility for their work. Faith is rooted deeply here. Children hear God’s promises, practice grace with one another, and learn how they can reflect Jesus’ love at school and at home. 3rd Grade – Ms. Jacob Third grade is a year of deeper understanding and personal growth. In Ms. Jacob’s classroom, students expand their reading, writing, and problem-solving skills while discovering more about the world around them. Daily devotions and Bible lessons help students see how God’s Word connects to their lives. It’s a supportive space where students learn to think critically, serve joyfully, and grow confidently in Christ. 4th Grade – Mrs. Kitzman Fourth grade brings growing independence and new challenges. In Mrs. Kitzman’s class, students dive into rich literature, build strong math skills, and explore science and social studies with curiosity and care. Faith takes center stage as children discuss scripture, practice leadership, and learn what it means to live as followers of Jesus. It’s a classroom filled with encouragement, purpose, and steady academic growth.

TADS information is sent to enrolled families and is based on financial need. Families are encouraged to apply through TADS for financial assistance. New for the 2026-2027 school year, FLS is offering a new Live your Faith Scholarship. The Live Your Faith Scholarship is designed to support families who are committed to growing in faith and being active in our school and church community. This is not a financial-need-based scholarship. Instead, it reflects a shared commitment to participate in the life of our school. Selected families will receive a $700 scholarship and agree to participate in at least four community events throughout the school year. 10 scholarships will be given. Tuition & fees 2026-2027 Tuition & Fees At Faribault Lutheran School, we strive to make a Christ-centered education accessible and affordable for families. We see tuition as an investment in your child, their faith journey and their academic foundation. Below is a breakdown of tuition rates, available discounts, and additional fees. Tuition Rates Full Tuition: $4,225 per student Peace or Trinity Lutheran Church Member Rate: $3,825 per student Available Discounts 5% discount when tuition is paid in full by August 15 Second Child Discount: $250 off Third Child and Beyond: $1,100 off per additional child Additional Fees Registration Fee (before March 15): $100 per child 50% of this fee goes directly to your child’s classroom for activities like parties, field trips, and supplies. Late Registration Fee (after March 15): $300 per child Technology Fee: $75 per child This fee covers costs for online curriculum components such as Super Kids and classroom technology. Volunteer Fee: $200 per family This fee is refundable or can be applied to next year’s tuition when 15 volunteer hours are completed. This applies in late May/early June at the end of each school year. Funds kept for hours not worked then are distributed back directly to each classroom for additional funding as well as our school wide experiences and field trips fund, along with replacing items like playground balls and art supplies. Why Tuition Matters It costs almost $10,000 to educate each student at FLS. Thanks to the generous support of Peace and Trinity Lutheran Churches, FLS families only pay a portion of the actual cost of a Christ-centered education. Your tuition investment helps us provide an environment where students grow spiritually, academically, and personally. Fine Arts at Faribault Lutheran School - Faribault, MN Fine Arts Fine Arts at FLS At Faribault Lutheran School, we believe in nurturing the God-given talents of every student through a variety of fine arts opportunities—now led by our full-time music teacher. From music and drama to visual arts, your child will have multiple ways to learn, grow, and shine. What Fine Arts Are Part of the School Day? Music Classes (Grades K–8): Taught by our full-time music teacher, students have the opportunity to participate in music class daily and learn rhythm, melody, harmony, composition, and more. Art Classes (Grades K–8): Using the Arts Attack curriculum and local partnerships like the Paradise Center for the Arts. What Performances Will My Child Be Involved In?
